Cinematographer Research Project 20%   DUE WEEK 8

The purpose of this assignment is to write a 5 page research paper on the cinematographer selected for you.  With all research, we need to answer the 5-W’s, which are the backbone to any journalistic inquiry.  WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY.

Times New Roman font, 12pt, double spaced.

Complete the following tasks in order:

1.     Write a detailed biography of your subject.  Indicate who they are now and who they work for, what they do as cinematographers and what they have done (list their works), when they did what they did, how they got started, and how they got to where they are now.  Discover why they do what they do.

2.      Select some of their films.  Investigate their visual style and what makes their work stand out.  Give details about visual techniques, camera techniques, use of light and color.  Find reviews of their work.  Discuss what you find innovative and inspiring.

3.     Include images or screen shots of their films and dissect them in terms of composition, lighting, and design.

4.     Cite your websites and info under a references section at the end.
