Depth of Field and Focus

The purpose of this assignment is to experiment and achieve proper depth of field and rack focus techniques.

Do this first:
Demonstrate your grasp of rack focus by shooting a total of 6 rack focus shots at varying depths.

Next:
Now that we have some of the compositions down, let's experiment further by concentrating on trying to get these shots to tell a loose story.

MOOD: MYSTERIOUS

Must shoot EXT's at NIGHT and INT's for DAY- MUST USE LIGHT KIT


NO HAND HELD OR YOU FAIL

Shoot this following list of cinematic compositions.  Do 1 of each and try to tell a story by connecting them.  No extra shots.

1.     Establishing shot (EST)

2.     2-shot

3.      FULL SHOT (FS)- head to toe

4.     Medium Shot (MS)

5.     Medium Close Up (MCU)

6.     Close Up (CU)

7.     Extreme Close Up (ECU)

8.     Over the Shoulder (OTS)

9.     Cowboy Shot (3/4)

10.  Experimental Shot

Use female actors.  Nobody in the class may appear in these videos. Must use natural sound.  No overdubbed music.  Focus on storytelling with the shots.

Each team is responsible for posting 1 video they have chosen to represent their submission. DO NOT POST MORE THAN 1 video per group. Please indicate the group name with submission. Please give credits for crew and actors.
